Meet Josh (he/him/his)
Staff Psychotherapist

I am a MSW graduate of Simmons University and a clinical social worker with experience in both community health and school-based settings. I completed my clinical training at Charles River Community Health, where much of my work centered on supporting individuals with histories of complex trauma. Previously I interned at Brookline High School, where I worked with adolescents navigating emotional, relational, and substance use-related challenges.

My approach to therapy is integrative and trauma-informed. I draw from modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and psychoeducation. At the same time, my work is largely grounded in somatic and mindfulness-based practices. I often incorporate breathwork, grounding techniques, and body-based awareness to help us slow things down, build a sense of safety, and support emotional regulation.

I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and physical experiences are deeply connected, and that when something feels overwhelming, it often shows up in more than one way. Because of that, I see therapy as a space where we can gently pay attention to all of those layers—making room not just to understand what’s happening, but to feel more steady and connected in the process. My undergraduate focus on Buddhism and Hinduism continues to shape my perspective, especially in my appreciation for mindfulness, meditation, and present-moment awareness as tools for insight and change.

In our work together, I aim to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported. I believe that everyone deserves access to thoughtful, equitable care, and I try to meet each person with curiosity and openness. Clients often describe me as empathetic, grounded, and easy to connect with, and I place a strong emphasis on building a relationship that feels safe and collaborative.

I see therapy as an ongoing and evolving process for both client and therapist. I approach my work with curiosity and humility, and I’m committed to continuing to grow and learn. Currently, I am expanding my training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR, and SMART.
