Meet Jess, LCSW she/her/hers
Staff Psychotherapist at Embodying Compassion, Boston Psychotherapy
Well-being requires mind-body connection cultivated through awareness, breath, and grounded presence. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a powerful tool for healing, where trust and collaboration create the safety needed to explore the deeper roots of distress and the skills to feel more empowered to make meaningful change.
I help clients reconnect with themselves — and their bodies — through relational, somatic, and skills-based approaches. As a certified yoga instructor, I integrate movement, breathwork, and mindfulness to support emotional and psychological wellness, helping clients to build an embodied sense of safety and resilience.
My approach combines somatic work, ACT, DBT, IFS-informed therapy with mindfulness-based tools to foster emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, and values-based action. I also guide clients in using supportive elements in their environment, such as nature and social connection, to enhance neurochemical balance and overall well-being. Additionally I use traditional approaches such as psycho-dynamic, relational talk therapy and sometimes use CBT when appropriate.
Clients often describe me as grounding, intuitive, and direct. Whether you’re healing your relationship with food and body, navigating anxiety or depression, or seeking to reconnect with your sense of self, we’ll move at a pace that respects your nervous system and honors all parts of you.
